Wii for Christmas 2007? Better start looking now!
Santa, if you want a Wii for Christmas, I suggest you sign up for Wii alerts right now. There is no way Santa Claus will be able to deliver Wii orders unless you get in line early!
The man that heads up the North American division of Nintendo, Reggie Fils-Aime, has publicly stated that there is no way they will meet the demand for Wii’s this holiday season. Between shortages in third-party parts and maxed out production levels, Nintendo has been cranking hard on pushing out as many Wii’s as possible. However, demand has only subsided slightly since last holiday season as stock levels remain dramatically low.
As of last week, it was the first time in the history of NowInStock the Wii stock at Amazon lasted just over 1 hour. Yes, you read it correctly, one hour! This is nearly 11 months post the initial Wii release. So if that is any indication, to me it says, get your ducks in order now and start the hunt. I am also sure that this will also carry over into accessories as well. Granted the Wii Accessories, Nunchuk and Wii Remote, will not be nearly as hard to find, as has always been the case, but even last year the accessories levels had issues whenever the Wii demand was at its peak.
