• Canon Rebel XSi (450D) Preorders Now Available

    January 31st, 2008

    Digital Rebel XSi Preorders Available!

Canon has just announced their latest version of the ever-popular Digital Rebel. The new version is the Digital Rebel XSi (450D). And as quick as the announcement was made, Amazon and other stores have already begun taking preorders. I have added all four of the units to the Digital Camera Tracker, but if you do not want to wait any longer and ensure you are one of the first to have it in your hands, here are the options:

So What Are the New Features?

As you can see, the tradition of the Black and Silver Rebel models continues, but let me take a minute to inform you of the new features to grace the new Canon Rebel XSi:

    • 3-inch LCD monitor – XTi has a 2.5 inch screen
    • 12.2 megapixel CMOS sensor – Besides the obvious increase in megapixels, this new sensor aids in reducing image noise
    • DIGIC III Image Processor – the first model in the Rebel series to incorporate DIGIC III
    • Enhanced Live View – this feature allows for image framing from the LCD and not just the view finder as is common among consumer level Digital SLR cameras
    • Improved Autofocus and Framing Rate – better subject detection with autofocus and 3.5 frames per second for bursts of up to 53 images in large/fine JPEG mode
    • Image Stabilizer Lens -Obviously to compete with the recent Sony DSLR releases, Canon has upped the ante to also offer an image stabilizer lens if you choose to preorder the version with the Lens. 18-55mm IS

I am personally excited about the 3 inch monitor and the Enhanced Live View. The live view is something point and click cameras have enjoyed since the beginning. But getting this onto an DSLR is another story. Having been available on the high end professional cameras before, it is now available on the Rebel XSi.

    Pick your color… preorder it!

  • Amazon Wii In Stock

    January 30th, 2008

Well it was nice to see that Amazon had some stock finally today… for about 10 minutes. This was the first Wii stock available at Amazon in the new year!

I never received my Twitter alert personally. Not sure if this was because I was trying to block SPAM or because Twitter was down for maintenance. If you didn’t receive your Twitter alert either then it must have been because of maintenance.

  • Sears Wii Console Was In Stock… About Time.

    January 29th, 2008

UPDATE: Yes, I am turning off Sears until Sears fixes their website. As Kim Y has stated below, and as we have known for quite some time, Sears website has serious issues. Their inventory doesn’t update real-time and as a result the site will show stock as being available when in reality it is not, hence why my site shows stock as being available. Here is what my site recently saw on their site as of 12:04 PM. Typically I turn Sears off quickly, but I have been in meetings all morning.

After a lull for sometime, it was finally nice to see that Sears was the first one back to bring a nice load of Wii consoles back to the market. For all of those that misssed this opportunity, I expect that Amazon will be having stock available sometime this week.Justin

  • MacBook Air In Stock Tracker Live

    January 17th, 2008

    MacBook Air

I have just added a new tracker to the list… the MacBook Air In Stock Tracker.

Not everyone out there wants to place preorders; they just want to know when stock is available, hence the reason behind the release of this tracker. Currently, I am only tracking Amazon, but this will change soon enough. The great thing about Amazon is that as long as you do not live in Kansas, Kentucky, North Dakota, or Washington, there is NO TAX! And, when purchasing an item of MacBook Air value, that can mean hundreds of dollars saved!

  • Guitar Hero 3 for Wii Still In Stock

    January 13th, 2008

UPDATE: As of last night, RedOctane has sold out of the Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii. Amazon and eToys also had some yesterday, but they went as well. However, if you missed all of those, Radio Shack now has them in stock!

UPDATE: Monday morning the 14th of January and stock is still available. I am guessing that stock doesn’t last through the end of the day.

After three days, the Guitar Hero 3 Wii Bundle is still in stock at Red Octane. This is by far the longest it has lasted within the tracker ever. For those of you that are not aware, Red Octane is the publisher of the Guitar Hero 3, and this is their own store.

  • Sears Wii Alerts 1-4-08

    January 4th, 2008

UPDATE: Yes, they were in stock! Alerts went out just a little early and if you stuck around and refreshed… you could have been one of the lucky ones. I will be taking it out of the tracker now as stock seems to have diminished, but still showing in stock.

Well it may just have been a fluke with the Sears site, but I would stick around to make sure. Sit on the Sears page and continue to refresh it. Here is what my spider saw:

  • Target Mega Mix Was In Stock

    December 28th, 2007

Recently, I had been getting a little discouraged by the Mega Mix alerts that have been going out as I am sure a lot of you are also. I can tell you they have been in stock, but in VERY limited quantities. I was actually able to click on this last alert quick enough myself to see that indeed it was still in stock:

    target_12-28-07.jpg

Two rules to give you the best opportunity at snagging a Wii or any other hot product:

    1. Be as quick as you can when alerts come in.
    2. Ensure that you already have all of your account details setup at all stores where you are looking to get a Wii. (This speeds up the checkout process immensely.)

Doing both of these, it will give you the best opportunity at snagging a Wii.
