Earlier this morning Canon announced the release of the long anticipated 1Ds Mark IV. However, the announcement is much more. The announced professional level DSLR is the Canon EOS 1D X which is stated by Canon as a replacement for both the 1D Mark IV and 1Ds Mark III. It appears that the dual model professional line has been consolidated down to one camera, the 1D X. As stated by Canon in their press release:

“Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, is proud to introduce a completely revolutionized EOS-1D series camera, the Canon EOS-1D X Digital SLR camera.* As the new leader in Canon’s arsenal of professional DSLRs, the EOS-1D X will be a high-speed multimedia juggernaut replacing both the EOS-1Ds Mark III and EOS-1D Mark IV models in Canon’s lineup. Enhancing the revolutionary image quality of the EOS-1Ds and speed capabilities of the EOS-1D series, the EOS-1D X DSLR features an 18-megapixel full-frame Canon CMOS sensor, Dual DIGIC 5+ Imaging Processors, 14-bit A/D data conversion and capable of shooting an incredible 12 frames-per-second (fps).  Canon’s EOS DSLR cameras and accessories have a long-standing legacy of providing high-quality results to professionals in a wide range of markets, including sports, nature, cinematography, wedding and commercial studios. The 1D X release date is slated for March 2012, with accessories to follow such as the Wireless File Transmitter and GPS.

Yesterday came with the announcement of the Fujifilm X10.  Building off the success and demand of the FujiFilm FinePix X100, the X10 is a new high-end point ‘n shoot digital camera with nearly the same retro style of the X100. A quick post to let all know I am currently working on adjusting Target. They have released a new site and all tracking of Target is now inaccurate. Making adjustments as I write this; everything should be functional and accurate again by noon. The season of new site launches is upon us and tracking may be affected as a result.

UPDATE: It appears Target is still working out the kinks on their site. Until they have a site running without errors, we will not be able to update the tracking fully. Over the next few days we will monitor Target.com to see how things progress.

I guess after 6 years of running this site, my database’s history table decided to crap out. So from this point forward history will once again begin from scratch.

While it was nice to look back and see when stock was last available, there was never really any valid analysis with regards to this history. As a result, I felt it was more important to get the site live ASAP instead of waiting for a history table that might be able to be repaired.
