To our users who use AOL for their email: Email alerts destined for aol.com, prior to 11:00 AM today, have been TURNED OFF as AOL continually delays our emails.

Option 1

We suggest you log in and change your email to another provider. Then turn on email alerting for your items in order to continue receiving our alerts in a timely manner. Gmail remains the most trust worthy provider.

Option 2

If you would like to ignore our above advice and try to continue receiving email from us to your aol.com email address, you will need to log in to your account and turn email alerting back on for each of your items. If you proceed with this method, there is clearly no guarantee on the delivery times.

Sorry for this inconvenience, however, once we reach a certain threshold with AOL, deliveries of emails tanks. Smaller queues to AOL seem to pass, but as they grow into the thousands issues arise.

UPDATE 11/30/2016:  Walmart Canada tracking has resumed.

As of March 11th, 2016, all Walmart.ca (Canada) tracking will cease. This is the result of Walmart.ca removing their affiliate program which we rely on to support the site and keep it free for you the subscribers. If anything changes, we will update this post.

We have added Google Fi to our list of mobile carriers for text/SMS alerting. We are using the gateway address “@msg.fi.google.com” as reported in this announcement from Google.

Given that Google Fi relies on both the Sprint and T-Mobile networks, our hopes are not that great that this system will be reliable given our past experiences with both these carriers. Regardless, please let us know if you receive your alerts or not in the discussion below or via our contact form.

If you are looking to sign up with NowInStock.net for email alerts, or already signed up with a NowInStock.net account, you should be aware that we are encountering alert delivery issues with Yahoo! Mail. There is nothing we can do on our end. This is an issue that crops up every year once we start delivering mass amounts of in stock and/or pre-order email alerts. All other email providers are delivering our mail in a timely fashion. As a result of this delay, it is highly recommended that you use a different email provider (Gmail, Hotmail, etc) if you are planning on using “email” alerts. TXT alert delivery is not affected by this.

How to Fix the Issue:

• If you are signing up for the first time, just select a different email provider account (such as Gmail) when signing up.
• If you are already a NowInStock.net account holder, it is high suggested that you change your account username/email address within your account. Not only will this fix any potential delivery issues this year, but also into the future. This can be accomplished by logging in and using  the form on the left hand side of the My Account page.

I know this might not be the most optimal solution, but we have contacted Yahoo! Mail and the issue goes unresolved. When alerts are sent, our mail queue backs up with delayed Yahoo mail. Basically they are throttling delivery to the point where some email deliveries will be worthless as stock will be gone by the time the email reaches your inbox.
