NowInStock.net's Desktop Alerts

NowInStock.net Desktop Alerts is a small application which enables a person to monitor the availability of products tracked at NowInStock.net via their computer's desktop. Desktop Alerts runs via the Adobe© AIR™ runtime. Currently Adobe AIR runs on Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Read the following Quick Start instructions on how to use the Desktop Alerts, or visit the online Help Docs for more detailed information. Lastly, this is currently a BETA test, so please report any bugs or suggestions via our contact form.

Quick Start

  1. You will need an account at NowInStock.net in order to run Desktop Alerts. Your Account is where you manage your email alerts as well as the Desktop Alerts option:
    Register for a FREE Account
  2. Install the Desktop Alerts Application:
    Please upgrade your Flash Player. You will not be able to Install Desktop Alerts if you do not update Flash.
  3. When you first run NowInStock.net Desktop Alerts, you will be asked for your NowInStock.net Account email/username, enter your Email/Username info on the Options Tab and click Save.
  4. Desktop Alerts are managed via Your Account at NowInStock.net. This means to add an item to Desktop Alerts, you will need to add it at NowInStock.net first along with switching the Desktop swithc to "ON" for each specific item you want to show in the Desktop Alert application.
  5. In order to make the alerts active within the Desktop Alerts application you will need to:
    1. Click Refresh on the Options Tab under Define Alert Items if the Desktop Alerts application is already running, OR
    2. Restart the application
  6. If you make adjustments in the future, repeat steps 4 & 5.
  7. To delete items, just turn the Desktop switch to "OFF" or DELETE the item, then click Refresh within the Desktop Alerts application's Options Tab.
